In the spirit of community music, we maintain a no-audition policy.
The MVB welcomes new members who would like to play fun, interesting and challenging music. If you have a background in playing a wind or percussion instrument, and wish to commit to regular attendance at rehearsals, we would love to have you join us! Beginning in February and running through December, our rehearsals are held on most Tuesday evenings at Marion High School Orchestra Room, 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Enter door 17. (Note: From time to time, a Tuesday evening rehearsal is cancelled due to a conflicting holiday or other event. Anyone wanting to visit us at a Tuesday rehearsal might want to contact us ahead of time to confirm we will be rehearsing on that particular evening.)
The Band does not charge dues. Each member is asked to purchase an official, white, short-sleeved shirt with the band’s logo. Shirts are offered in both men’s and women’s styles. Our official concert “uniform” consists of black slacks, black belt, black shoes and socks – and that white polo shirt. The shirt is available through one of our board members.
